BACKGROUND

FoxSound is a music library containing one-stop, pre-cleared music for all productions.

This music library is constantly updated to keep up to date with new music. The music library is created specifically for sports and entertainment programming. FoxSound supplies high-quality and cost-effective music to studios, networks, advertisers and production companies worldwide, including ESPN, Disney, Fox, ABC, Showtime, VH1 and many others.

PROBLEM

The FoxSound website currently is limited to Source Audio tools. We wanted to develop our own website for the home page, outside of Source Audio, to give us free reign and allow for more creativity. We wanted to establish a logo for FoxSound as well as create a consistent color theme throughout the website and home page.

APPROACH

Since I was creating only a home page and "About" page for this project, I decided to skip most of the UX process. There wasn't much research that needed to be done about the users to influence design decisions. The team I was working with already had in mind what they wanted the pages to include and they wanted me to add my own creative touch to it. Thus, I got started on the UI right away for this project.

Although FoxSound is a part of Fox Corporation, I did not need to follow the same style guide as Fox Corporation. I was allowed to completely stray away from Fox Corporation's main design colors. For FoxSound I wanted to step out of my comfort zone and work with darker and bolder colors.

FOCUS

I wanted to focus on making the FoxSound redesign big and bold.

The team and I wanted to stray away from Fox's usual designs and colors. We wanted FoxSound to stand out from the rest of Fox's websites.

FINAL DESIGNS

These are the final designs - the FoxSound home page and "About" page. In addition, I created a new brand logo for FoxSound.

REFLECTION

This project really pushed me out of my comfort zone as a designer. My style of designing is more modern with lots of white space and subtle colors. For this redesign I went with darker and bolder colors. I'm glad that I was able to work on a project where I had to work extra hard to come up with a design that was different from my usual but still fit the needs of the team. I hope that in the future I can continue to work on designs that require me to push out of my comfort zone and think outside of the box.
